2024 Winter/Spring Membership Letter
Dear Friends and future friends of the Library:
Our very best wishes for a Happy & Healthy 2024!
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new executive board officers Georgette Braga and Wilma Falduto, and bid a heartfelt farewell with great thanks to Maureen Bartolucci and Dorothy Padko for their years of service to our community as Co-President and Treasurer, respectively. Our library has benefitted greatly from their dedication and hard work. We cannot thank you enough, Maureen and Dorothy!
In 2023 the Friends sponsored numerous events for Children and Adults including watercolor painting, luminaries, musical programs including the Summer lawn concert with The Stone Flower band, the 4th annual Pequanno-Con!, the Children’s Summer Reading program (with 689 participants!), the Fall festival, Holiday Family photos, and more.
Thanks to your support of our annual book sale in February and the Tricky Tray in September, we raised funds to provide passes to 7 museums in NJ/NY, a large screen television for the meeting room, and an annual subscription to the Library Speakers Consortium.
Benjamin Franklin said, “Investment in knowledge pays the best interest”. Your continued support through membership dues and participation in future fundraising initiatives will enable the Friends of the Library to provide educational materials, lectures, programs, and entertaining events that will continue to improve the quality of life in our community. Please consider becoming a Friend this year, and/or renew your membership. We look forward to seeing you!
Respectfully yours,
Nancy & Georgette, Co-Presidents
