Seed Lending Library
The Pequannock Seed Library is a community project that connects patrons with a wide variety of free seeds that can be taken, grown, and shared. Seeds will be available to browse in the library’s card-catalog-style cabinet.
What Are Seed Libraries?
Seed libraries are exactly what they sound like—a place where anyone can borrow free seeds to plant. Gardening is a wonderful hobby that just about anyone can pick up, and seed libraries are the perfect entry point.
Seed Library Goals
- Encourage people to grow their own food
- Encourage people to save seeds so that their plants will adapt to the area
- Develop sustainable local supplies of seeds
- Promote green spaces, healthy living, and a love of nature
- Please take three (3) packets per family
- Seeds are free but please let some of the plants go to seed, save seeds, and donate seeds back for future gardeners!
